This past weekend, I saw someone from my high school that I had not seen since high school. Since high school, God has completely changed him, like a complete 180 from the person he was in high school. It was so incredible to see this young man worshipping, praying, and leading other high school students this past weekend- something I never could have imagined him doing while we were in high school.
It was such a great reminder of the work that God has done in all of our hearts. I was just as far from God as this person was when I was in high school, I just did a much better job at hiding it (which is a little scary to think about). There was a time in my life where I never would have imagined that I would be where am I now and headed in the direction that I am. If it weren't for the complete transformation of my heart by God before my senior year, I don't know what my life would look like now, and I'm thankful that I don't have to find out.
I don't really know what the point of this post is except to encourage you to consider your life before God and thank Him for His redemptive power in our lives. We can't all have super dramatic testimonies, I for one was never a drug dealer who almost died of an overdose, and we tend to act like our boring testimonies are less powerful, but that's not true at all. God's work is never boring or pointless, everything has a purpose and God wants to use our lives to change someone else's, no matter how boring we think that it is. So, think about your life before God and thank him for the life that you now have in Him. And be awed like me by the work that God does in the people around us and ourselves.
