I keep getting behind on my posts. School is getting crazy right now, and spring break was just insane. and I'm loosing my momentum on this whole project. But the school year is almost done!!

Hindi numbers

Monday 1-17-11

For the most part, Hindi as a language is not that difficult. The grammar is fairly straight-forward and once you get the script down, its really fun to write. Vocab is, of course, the hardest part and makes it very difficult sometimes. Another thing that is not very nice about the language is-- the numbers. 

There is very little pattern and they are very difficult to remember. So I made some little notecards and stuck them up on my dresser. It worked when I was learning the letters, so maybe it will work this time.

Hindi Skit time!!

Saturday 12-4-10

Each semester we have to write and film a skit in Hindi. This is my group, including our guest star, Kavya, creating a shaadi.com account for our skit.  Shaadi (Hindi for marriage).com is India's most famous dating/marriage website.

While we were filming it started to snow!!! We got to film our love/dance scene (every bollywood film has to have at least one) in the snow. So fun! but cold!!

You can't really see the snow, but it was there.

More Hindi practice

Tuesday 10-19-10

Hindi practice is more fun with friends!! The test was today and it wasn't too bad. I'm so glad its over and now it's fall break and I'm heading to Asheville!!! Pretty pictures coming soon!!!

Hindi

Monday 10-16-10

The short stack is the one that I know... (well as of Monday, it was a little bigger today). We had our first Hindi exam today which meant two days full of memorizing word after word. Not fun.
