Let the blogging marathon begin
Hi!! Sorry that it has been FOREVER since I posted pictures!! I hope that there are still people out there reading this thing. I'm going to try to get caught up, so sorry if you read this on a google reader, there's going to be a lot!!!

Application party!!
Saturday 1-29-11
My friend, Bemi, and I got together on Saturday to work on our school of education applications. Bemi is a braver soul than I am and is applying for the middle grades program, I am sticking with my cute elementary schoolers. We submitted our applications on Tuesday, so if you all could be praying that we get in that would be awesome!! Neither of us have any other plan for our lives haha. We have to be teachers...

How to Murder Your Wife
Saturday 1-22-11
Don't worry I'm not giving out pointers or anything!!
I've been really blessed this year to get to really know one of the family's that I babysit for, particularly the mom, outside of just babysitting. The Rudolph family is awesome and kindly opens up their home and kitchen to college students to come hang out. Our Friday dinners frequently end in a game of Nerts. This time Chris Rudolph and I ended up on a team together and lets just say, they won't let that happen again.
But, since Chris went out of town on Saturday, Michal invited some of us over again to hang out and watch a movie. We ended up watching How to Murder Your Wife, an movie from the 60s that was really adorable and funny. I would recommend it.
Here's Michal and Natalie, the other girl who was hanging out with us.
Love you both!!

Pride and Prejudice
Sunday 1-13-11
I spent Friday and Sunday night watching the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice with some friends, yes, it did take 2 nights- the things is 6 hours long!! But oh so good!!! Colin Firth!! I love him!!!! And what could we do on Sunday after we finished the BBC, but immediately watch the new version , the one with Kiera Knightley, and compare.
So, basically, Sunday night, I watched 5 hours worth of Pride and Prejudice. What a way to spend a night haha.

New Year's Eve
Friday 12-31-10
I had a low-key New Year's Eve hanging out with our family friends, the Smith's. I spent the night at their house in East Durham, which was a new experience for me haha. The Latinos across the street were having quite the party, their music was still going when we went to bed.
Hanging out with the Smiths was fabulous. I don't get to see them much once school gets going.
Our evening involved Indian and Chinese take-out, a movie, Beatles Rock band (for 4 HOURS), and knitting like old ladies haha. Just like our sleepover weekends when they were living in Fayettville. I even finished a blanket that I started 2 years ago.
We also made chai and I made them rice flakes (poha) (be jealous Emily) and bought some yummy Indian biscuits from the Indian story in Durham. I also bought Frooti for the night. Seriously, my life was so complete!!
Our Indian snack feast, chai, poha, and biscuits.
I don't think I took this one haha. All the bowls of poha.
Cooking the poha- frying up the onions, chilis, and spices. Smells so good!!
Isn't she lovely?! Erika, my new photography teacher haha, we spent all night taking pictures and playing with our cameras. The others got a little annoyed haha.
She even taught me how to do this cool thing with the Christmas tree lights.
And as we are good, under-aged young people, we brought in the New Year with sparkling cider.
Happy New Year everybody!! 2011 is going to be awesome!!

Dinner with the Smiths
Thursday 12-23-10
Some good friends of our's moved back to Durham over the summer and so we went over to their house on Thursday for dinner. It was really fun to get to hang out with all their girls. Here is a pic of the girl, Erika, who is my age and me, of course.

My study buddies
Tuesday 12-7-10
Thankfully, I wasn't alone in my studying misery. The nice thing about having my friends all want to get into nursing school is that I'm never without someone to study with. The not so nice thing is that the only time I get to see them is in Davis.

Working Buddy!!
Tuesday 11-30-10
Joined Whitney at Starbucks on Tuesday night to finish up a paper. Thankfully, I wasn't there too late, although the paper was pretty bad haha.

Monday 10-11-10
Today is my very dear friend, Elise's, birthday. She turned 19 (she's just a baby!!) and we had so much fun hanging out all together. I'm sad to say that in honor of her birthday I watched my second full episode of Gossip Girl- Elise, it's only cause I love you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Speaking of birthdays- 28 days!!

The better way to study Shakespeare
Friday 10-8-10
Watch the hilarious Amanda Bynes and the gorgeous Channing Tatum play soccer. It also makes a great Friday evening with friends. I had another picture that I liked a little better, Lindsey looked silly, but she didn't like it haha.
Our little Kara's all grown up
Thursday 10-7-10
This picture doesn't capture the fact that this bike is owned by a girl at least half a foot taller than Kara. Very entertaining to watch Kara attempt to ride it.
This is what Davis does to us...
Tuesday 10-5-10
We're going crazy!!! I spent WAY too much time in Davis this week. Not. Fun. At. All.

Blogging is more fun than Hindi homework
This blogging thing is really bad for my productivity. Just another way to procrastinate on my work haha.
Friday 9-26-10
I meant to take a picture of Lindsey and I while we were actually at the play, but I forgot my camera, oopsie. We had to go see As You Like It for the drama class that we're in (the one who's exam I almost slept through, made a 100 on that test btw, could slept a little bit longer probably). It was really good. Playmaker's Rep Company puts on some really awesome plays here in Chapel Hill. If you're in the area you should try to go see one some time. Tuesday nights are community night, $10 a ticket (which is really good deal).

Why I love babysitting
Sunday 9-19-10
You're never too big to play dress up!! I love when I get to watch little boys, especially since most of the people I babysit for have little girls. But, every Sunday night my friend, Elise, and I babysit for a small group in the church with mainly little boys. So much fun! They love the superhero dress up! And they love it when we wear the masks haha. oh and the awkward face was me trying to make an intense Batman face as directed by one of the little boys but also laughing at Elise who was laughing at me and it just ended up so awkward.
You didn't know that Spider-man wore pretty red glasses did you? Learn something new every day!

Happy (early) Birthday, Jessie!!
Friday
Jessie celebrated her early b-day on Friday by going to Pei-Wei and then playing lazer tag (yes, like an eighth grader). I had to babysit so I was only able to come to dinner for a little bit and then go, but it was good to be able to see her for at least a few minutes! Enjoy the rest of your b-day weekend. Don't party too much tonight ;)
Two for Thursday
Because I was so bad and completely forgot to take a picture on Wednesday, I took two on Thursday.
Thursday 9-16-10
I spent Thursday afternoon with H again. He LOVES to terrorize their dog, Sam. Here they're playing tug of war with an old blanket- too cute!
What else would we do on a Thursday night after Cornerstone but go to yo-po?
Friday, September 10, 2010
Last one for now haha
Thursday
What a healthy snack- oatmeal cream pie and Mountain Dew. Just what you need before hitting the library some more to get some micro homework done (the hw was H's not mine- no way I'm taking micro haha). Or in my case, go absolutely crazy and have the giggles all night long. It was an interesting night last night.
Yo-Po
Wednesday
I got to meet a fun new friends, Chex, who is from China and studying here for the next four years. She joined A and I for dinner and then we introduced her to the Tar Heel favorite, Yo-Po. She loves it now! (of course)
