I can't wait to do this next year

Wednesday 11-3-10

Wednesday was a dull, cold day and when I went to babysit H, he was still asleep. So, I made myself some tea and sat down at their kitchen table and did some work for my Bible study. It was so nice! I can't wait for a kitchen table. I also told my roomie that next year we definitely need a tea kettle, even if we don't drink tea all that often.

He's a fat, demon cat

Tuesday 11-2-10

K's cat is very old and has some eye/ear issues haha. K's response when she saw him on Monday: "He looks like a demon, a fat demon."

I love being reminded of God's redemptive, life-changing power

This past weekend, I saw someone from my high school that I had not seen since high school. Since high school, God has completely changed him, like a complete 180 from the person he was in high school. It was so incredible to see this young man worshipping, praying, and leading other high school students this past weekend- something I never could have imagined him doing while we were in high school.

It was such a great reminder of the work that God has done in all of our hearts. I was just as far from God as this person was when I was in high school, I just did a much better job at hiding it (which is a little scary to think about). There was a time in my life where I never would have imagined that I would be where am I now and headed in the direction that I am. If it weren't for the complete transformation of my heart by God before my senior year, I don't know what my life would look like now, and I'm thankful that I don't have to find out.

I don't really know what the point of this post is except to encourage you to consider your life before God and thank Him for His redemptive power in our lives. We can't all have super dramatic testimonies, I for one was never a drug dealer who almost died of an overdose, and we tend to act like our boring testimonies are less powerful, but that's not true at all. God's work is never boring or pointless, everything has a purpose and God wants to use our lives to change someone else's, no matter how boring we think that it is. So, think about your life before God and thank him for the life that you now have in Him. And be awed like me by the work that God does in the people around us and ourselves.

K's home!!! K's home!!!!!

Monday 11-1-10

And now, my blog will get a lot more interesting (I hope). I'm very excited to have my sister home for a little while and get to spend some time with her and go to the Krispy Kreme.

PS- one bonus of having a sister who lives in CA- lots and lots of scarves, and I have more than what's there. Out of all of those scarves, 1 is from India, 1 is from here, and all the rest are presents haha.

8 days left!!

Heeloween (well, sort of)

Sunday 10-31-10

Halloween in Chapel Hill is absolutely crazy!! Last year was awesome (we definitely had one of the best costumes), but this year I was not being creative at all about coming up with a costume and I had a lot of work to do in preparation for the next day so I decided not to partake in the Franklin St craziness. Maybe next year though. I did go hang out with some friends for a little while.

Kara and her apartment mates were Dove chocolate. so cute!! they even made earrings and headbands out of the chocolate wrappers.

Love Kara's quote haha.

My face just looks dirty, but it really says "Book." Yes, I was super creative and was facebook like Jim from the Office.

The Giant Swing

Saturday 10-30-10

About to ride on the giant swing with some sweet freshman girls (and Austin).

Madison about to go and very scared. She was screaming before they even started pulling her up. Check on my fb for the video soon, but I'm warning you, turn the volume down or you may bust out your house windows.

I Love Fall Retreat!!

Friday 10-29-10

I love refusing to graduate from high school by going on all the fun retreats and camps and stuff that the Summit's student ministry goes on. I love getting to be a part of these students lives and these weekends are just way too much fun to stop going!! And Lake Gaston is ridiculously gorgeous this time of year.

And as tradition dictates, Friday night was filled with dodgeball chaos.
