I went down to Charlotte to hang out with some of my friends from India. These two lovely ladies were on the team that I went with last Christmas. It was so great to hang out with them and to talk to Jessica about her recent trip to India and to hear about what God has been doing. He is going to do some great things this year!
Our cat has had a lot of issues for a while and so we've decided to put him to sleep. The vet said that he's been in a lot of pain and there isn't anything to do about it.
Every time I go hang out with the Smith girls, I get inspired to start a new project. I'm really great at starting projects, really bad at finishing them. On New Year's Eve, I finished a blanket that I started 2 years ago. Despite that, I have started a new blanket.
I had a low-key New Year's Eve hanging out with our family friends, the Smith's. I spent the night at their house in East Durham, which was a new experience for me haha. The Latinos across the street were having quite the party, their music was still going when we went to bed.
Hanging out with the Smiths was fabulous. I don't get to see them much once school gets going.
Our evening involved Indian and Chinese take-out, a movie, Beatles Rock band (for 4 HOURS), and knitting like old ladies haha. Just like our sleepover weekends when they were living in Fayettville. I even finished a blanket that I started 2 years ago.
We also made chai and I made them rice flakes (poha) (be jealous Emily) and bought some yummy Indian biscuits from the Indian story in Durham. I also bought Frooti for the night. Seriously, my life was so complete!!

Isn't she lovely?! Erika, my new photography teacher haha, we spent all night taking pictures and playing with our cameras. The others got a little annoyed haha.
She even taught me how to do this cool thing with the Christmas tree lights.
And as we are good, under-aged young people, we brought in the New Year with sparkling cider.

I was coming home late from a friends house and still hadn't taken a picture yet. Whoops... So I was going to find something to take a picture of in my room, another super boring one of my laundry or something haha.
But when I pulled up to my house, what did I find but three deer eating from our front bushes. Like literally feet in front of my house. So, of course, I had to take a picture! But, I didn't have my nice camera, it was pitch dark, and I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous to get to close, was not trying to get attacked by some crazy deer.
So, here is the best picture that I was able to snap as I was somewhat chasing the deer away through our front lawn.
All you can really see are the creepy eyes, but trust me they were there.
